The Gatehouse offers free support for adults aged 25+ who are homeless, vulnerably housed, on low income and/or looking for company and community.

Normal operating hours for our free café are Monday – Friday 5.00-7.00 pm, Sundays 4.00-6.00pm, at the St Giles Parish Rooms, 10 Woodstock Road, near the centre of Oxford. (map it) There are also therapeutic workshops on two evenings a week, and one to one sessions on Friday afternoons from noon to 3pm where guests can book an appointment to discuss their personal situation with Gatehouse project workers and receive information and guidance.

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE STATEMENT 15TH MAY

Our drop-in community centre currently remains shut, but the Gatehouse has now been running a new operational model successfully for over a month, and is continuing to refine and expand the services on offer in response to changing conditions and levels of demand.

Our dedicated one to one support team offered help to vulnerably housed Guests online and by telephone on over 400 occasions in April. In addition to providing information and guidance on a range of practical barriers they have been able to help Guests navigate the effects of the enforced isolation due to the pandemic by ensuring that they know there is a friendly voice available on the end of a telephone when support is most needed.

Our food and drink delivery service to vulnerably housed Guests managed to deliver over 500 meals in April alone, and these numbers are likely to increase significantly during May. We are following all the safety guidelines in relation to Covid-19 to ensure safety for staff, volunteers and Guests alike, and are committed to providing continued support for individuals who are most in need during this crisis, particularly those in self isolation.

If you, or somebody you know is in need of support at this time then please contact us via admin@oxfordgatehouse.org

We rely heavily on community support to enable us to continue providing our services, both in the short term under our new operational model, and in the longer term through a re-opening of our drop-in centre. Please donate to the Gatehouse COVID-19 emergency fund on JustGiving or via other methods such as cheques or bank transfers, as detailed on the Donate Money page of our website.
