The Gatehouse is an Oxford-based charity providing food, shelter and company to Oxford's homeless and poorly housed population. It is open to anyone who is 25 or over: Mondays to Fridays from 5pm to 7pm and Sundays from 4pm to 6pm. BASED AT ST GILES PARISH ROOMS
Many thanks to all those kind souls who donated items for the Christmas presents for all our guests. Each present consisted of a new hat, scarf, gloves, pants/knickers, socks and a bar of chocolate. Also thanks to Santa's helpers who wrapped up all the parcels.
The Gatehouse would like to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers, food groups and staff involved in the Food Safety Inspection on the 15th September 2015. We achieved the highest score of 5 which means we are officially fabulous!! All of us have prepared for this for over five months, but all the additions and hard work has really paid off. We couldn't have achieved this without the support and engagement of all the volunteers that make and deliver food and volunteers that help deliver the service each evening.
It is heartening to know that people who are homeless or vulnerably housed
are receiving such a high quality service!
Our guests also run their own website to showcase their ideas and creativity in all sorts of ways. See here for The Gatehouse Literary Forum
This project relies largely on voluntary workers and donations of money, food and other items. If you want to know more about helping us in any of these ways, please visit the how to help section. If you would like to donate to our regular running costs by credit or debit card, then you can use either our Just Giving web page here (also accepts PayPal) or the Charities Aid Foundation web page here (also accepts CAF Charity Card). General information about volunteering is given here.
