Thankfully the weather for this year’s event was cool and (mainly) dry, and nobody’s saddle literally caught on fire, but the 15 riders raising money for the Gatehouse set some highly respectable times between them. First over the line in the Gatehouse pack was volunteer Paul, and although he was beaten by some seriously athletic types (who probably cheat by actually practising) we are very proud of him and all of our other riders who managed to slog their way around the 25, 50, or even 80 mile routes!
Pictured below are some before and after photos of most of our riders. Apologies to those who missed out because they weren’t spotted in the massed crowds of nearly 900 riders who descended on the Oxford University Rugby Club. Between them this magnificent bunch have raised several thousand pounds for the Gatehouse – an update on the total will be shown here when all of the money is in.
We’re looking forward to next year’s event already, but before that we will be asking for volunteers to run in the Oxford Half Marathon on the 13th October, so all of you sporty types get in contact with us now. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for details on how to register.
