All contributions – large or small – are very much appreciated and will help us to continue our essential work in support of the homeless and vulnerably housed in Oxford.

The Gatehouse Covid-19 Emergency Appeal 2020:

Although we have temporarily had to close down our drop-in community centre, the Gatehouse is still providing support to Oxford’s vulnerably housed community during the Covid-19 crisis by introducing a different operational model.

Our dedicated team of one to one support staff are continuing to offer help to some of the Gatehouse vulnerably housed Guests on a regular basis online and by telephone.

The project is also launching a food and drink delivery service to vulnerably housed Guests over these uncertain times. We are following all the safety guidelines in relation to Covid-19 to ensure safety for volunteers, staff and Guests alike, and are committed to providing continued support for individuals who are most in need during this crisis, particularly those in self isolation.

We are for the most part a donation led charity, so any support that you can give, however big or small is much appreciated, particularly as we continue to incur a large proportion of our costs for items such as hall rental, whilst many of our normal avenues for fundraising have been closed to us as a result of the crisis. In the short term your donation will help us to fund our new operational model, however it will also enable us to build in long term resilience so that we will hopefully be able to relaunch all of our normal services speedily once conditions allow that to occur.

Please donate to the Gatehouse COVID-19 emergency fund on JustGiving  or via other methods such as cheques or bank transfers, as detailed under the ‘Donate Offline’ section below.

Donations made to us are eligible for Gift Aid Tax Relief. If you are a UK tax payer please fill in and return to us a Gift Aid declaration form, so that we can reclaim tax and boost our funds even further. This can either be posted to us (using the same address as below for sending cheques) or you can e-mail us a scanned copy to

Via Amazon Smile purchases

Amazon Smile is a new way to earn donations for The Gatehouse when you purchase goods from Amazon.

All you have to do is go to the special Amazon Smile login page for donations to The Gatehouse, set up login details for an Amazon Smile account, and then you are taken to the normal Amazon website where qualifying purchases (there are a few restrictions) will automatically result in funds being sent to The Gatehouse. Logging in via the above link every time is a quick and easy way to access these benefits.

Alternatively if you have an Amazon account already you may be prompted to set up a charity under Amazon Smile when you log in, at which point you can choose The Gatehouse. You must remember to start off at every time you log in though, as purchases made by going directly to the normal Amazon UK website page will not qualify.

The Gatehouse is currently seeking funding for specific projects through the following online portals:

The Good Exchange

Investors in Community

Please contact the Gatehouse on 01865-792999 or e-mail if you would like to raise money for us in another way.

For example, some of our supporters offer to do creative things to raise money for us via a sponsored event. If you have an idea for a sponsored event that you would like to organise, or know about one that somebody else is organising which you would like to participate in to raise money on our behalf, we would love to hear from you.

Looking to the longer term many people these days also leave a legacy to a charity in their will, and perhaps you might consider supporting The Gatehouse in this way.
