Last Sunday, the 13th October, saw thousands of runners take to Oxford's streets in the annual Oxford Half Marathon. This year they included a total of 22 individuals running to raise funds for the Gatehouse, which is a record number for our charity. Our huge thanks go out to each and every one of them.
Particular thanks go to Shaw Gibbs Accountants. Having chosen us as their Charity of the Year in 2024 they been organising various fundraising events on our behalf, and provided 13 of our runners in this event. Three of their employees are featured in our picture, smiling happily before the start (l. to r. Ethan, Sam and Matt), and (inset) mid-race.
13 miles is a lot further than most of us will ever run in our lives, so we really do appreciate the effort that everybody put in on the day. Sponsorship money has started rolling in, and we've already received several thousand pounds of much-needed funds, with more to follow. All of these donations will help to fund our charitable activities, from our café and clothes store through to counselling and casework support, and will make our guests' lives that little bit better.
